IntraObes is a multidisciplinary health care team  created in 2004 by Dr. Miguel Ángel Escartí, digestive surgeon, expert in Diabetes and Obesity Surgery (Bariatric and Metabolic). He was pioneer in Spain in organising a multidisciplinary complete team focused in treating patients with obesity and/or diabetes within the same physical space and a common protocol for patient service, by analysing their eating habits and diets for weight loss (currently this structure is known as inter-disciplinary).

The most common techniques are: gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, diabetes surgery, gastric plicature and bariatric revision surgery. In addition, there is intragastric balloon and stomach reduction without surgery (POSE and APOLLO methods).   Since then, IntraObes has carried out more than 2300 surgical procedures of obesity or diabtes surgery, in Madrid, Valencia and Murcia with results similar to those recommended by Scientific societies and medical evidence available.
